World of Warcraft has as friendly a user interface as possible to make the game accessible to all players.

World of Warcraft is an online game with thousands of players, so the game is built to facilitate extensive in-game socializing. You can search for players easily by searching by name, by looking for those in your same zone or by keywords such as a class, race, or guild name. You can also add players to a friends list, so you can keep track of nice and helpful players for grouping or just chatting.
Intuitive Interface
Guards in the human city of Stormwind look just like footmen from Warcraft III, peasants in the human town of Hillsbrad look exactly like their counterparts in the strategy games, and orc peons shuffle about the farms of Go’Shek in the Arathi Highlands. Night elf players can even see gargantuan Ancient Protectors patrolling the elven lands of Teldrassil, while a towering Ancient of War waits to greet all visitors to Darnassus.
Sprinkled liberally throughout the game world are hundreds of quest givers who provide thousands of quests. These quests can range from the simple to the complex. Some quests ask you to slay a set number of beasts or monsters, others ask you to collect trophies from creatures, and still others ask you to slay unique non-player characters or named creatures. You may be asked to deliver documents or items to other NPCs, escort important characters out of danger, or recover artifacts or lost items from fortified dungeons. Although many quests share a similar structure, all of them are presented by unique NPCs who deliver interesting backstory with each quest, which in turn brings the world alive and gives each quest a unique flavor.
This long list of landscapes doesn’t even include the underground environments and dungeons of the world. There are dungeons available for all ranges of mid- to high-level players, and they offer many rich quests, fearsome foes, and powerful rewards.
Instanced Dungeons
To ease players into questing, the game makes it easy to identify quest givers by the yellow exclamation marks over their heads. It is also easy to keep track of your quests through the quest log. You can always refer to this interface window to view all your accepted quests, the goals you still need to accomplish, and where to go to turn in your quest. When you return to a quest giver for your reward, a yellow question mark will replace the exclamation mark to tell you that your quest can be turned in.
Questing
You can move your chat window around the screen, customize the colors of the window to better suit your tastes, and customize your combat log, which is a scrolling text box that logs your actions and those of your enemies in real time.
Player-versus-player gameplay is very important to World of Warcraft. However, not everyone wishes to engage in PvP combat. Thus, there are different realm types, normal and PvP, that will accomodate either preference. On normal servers, PvP combat is entirely consensual. You cannot be attacked by other players unless you want to be. The other server type is player-versus-player, and on this server, you can sometimes be attacked by players of the opposing faction without warning.
Those who love the story will want to dive into the quests simply for the lore they reveal, but many players will also want to complete quests for the experience and the rewards. Nearly all quests give sizeable experience rewards.
The Horde faction includes the orc, tauren, troll, blood elf, and undead races, while the Alliance faction is comprised of dwarves, gnomes, humans, draenei, and night elves.
draws heavily upon the lore of the Warcraft universe. Long-time fans of the Warcraft games are finally able to step into the world from a player’s perspective, and experience the universe firsthand. People, places, and units from the strategy games are brought to life in .
Instances are meant to be challenging, but also to be fun and rewarding. There is especially good treasure in instances to entice players to explore their depths, and more powerful foes called elite monsters to keep the instances challenging. Instances are also more densely packed with monsters, and home to some of the game’s most unique and powerful adversaries. These bosses drop valuable rewards that will make defeating them well worth the effort. The experience one gains by learning these instances is another reward in itself. Running instances will help players learn how to play in a group, including how to fill their class roles and how to use teamwork and communication effectively in the context of the game. These lessons will be very valuable as players reach the end game and apply what they have learned.
Adventuring in the world
To promote the idea of epic adventuring with friends, World of Warcraft also introduces a concept called the instanced dungeon. These instanced dungeons are entire dungeons that spawn specifically for each group of adventurers that enter them. Each time a group enters such an instance, a unique version of it spawns for that group only. This means no other players can play in that instance and bother the group, steal kills or treasure from the party, or otherwise hinder its play experience. With each group getting its own personal dungeon, players will have all the benefits of a single-player role-playing experience but with the camaraderie and fun of an online game.

A Familiar World
It won’t be long before you encounter your first monster in your travels. World of Warcraft is home to a huge array of creatures of all shapes, sizes, and of varying threat levels to your character’s well-being. These creatures can be found everywhere, from roaming the countryside, residing in their own camps, or populating vast dungeons. There are wandering beasts, which will range from forest creatures such as bears, spiders, and wolves, to more exotic creatures such as giant phosphorescent moths and six-legged crocodiles called crocolisks.
Grouping is simple as well. Many quests are designed to be accomplished with other players, and you’ll therefore want to seek out the help of other characters for these. Groups can have up to five players, who should be around the same level so that all players in the group can fight acceptable challenges and earn good experience. The game also has ”raid groups,” which allow up to 40 players to adventure together against uncommonly powerful foes and quests. However, while in a raid group, the vast majority of quests (except special ”raid quests”) can not be completed and the experience reward for defeating monsters is significantly reduced.
Can I interest you in a quest?
You can only group and talk to players in your own faction. You also can only view and befriend players in your faction when using the in-game social commands. The intent is to make you feel like a member of one enormous team, while at the same time setting up the other faction as an enemy or, at best, a rival. Thus, if you wish to play with your friends, you should all join the same faction. Other content, such as the zones you can visit and the quests you can accomplish, are also organized by faction. Some quests can only be completed by Horde players and others can only be completed by Alliance players. Some zones offer cities and interactive NPCs for one faction, but are completely hostile to the other.
World of Warcraft’s interface allows you to determine from a quick mouse-over what something is and how you can interact with it. Your mouse pointer will turn into a context-sensitive icon when you are pointing at something you can interact with. For example, NPCs such as quest givers will turn the default pointer into a chat balloon when you mouse over them to let you know that you can talk to them. Trainers, who teach your characters new abilities and spells, turn the pointer into a book icon. If you can harvest a resource from the world, your cursor turn into an appropriate action icon when you mouse over them. If you can harvest a plant, your pointer turns into a flower. If you can mine ore, you get a mining pick pointer. In this way, the game tells you immediately and intuitively how you can interact with the world.
The first available instances are for characters in the mid-teens in levels, and there are dozens more to accommodate all levels up to 70.
The rewards for PvP play are excellent, however. Since the Horde-Alliance conflict is central to the Warcraft universe, player-vs-player combat is encouraged. As you defeat enemy players, you will accumulate honor points. You can then spend those points on honor rewards, such as special equipment, weapons, and mounts. Your honor points will never decay or decrease without spending them, so this system makes it possible to buy several smaller rewards or one large reward with the same number of points. Keep in mind though, that you will only gain points for defeating players near your level.
While you’re exploring the lands of Azeroth and Kalimdor, you’ll be treated to a multitude of different regions, each with its own visual style. Vast, varied, and beautiful, many of the regions were recreated from their appearances in prior Warcraft games, while others introduce heretofore uncharted lands in the Warcraft universe. This variety and detail can be seen in the lush forests in Ashenvale and Feralas, the snowy mountains in Dun Morogh, the savannah of the Barrens, the plains of Mulgore, and the deserts of Tanaris. Swamps in Un’Goro Crater, jungles in Stranglethorn Vale, farmland in Elwynn Forest, and even deforested hills in Stonetalon Mountains are even more of the many regions you can explore. Terrain that has been vastly altered by magic and the ravages of war also appear in the game. The razed city of Dalaran, encased in a protective magic shell, is a painful reminder of the devastation of the Reign of Chaos, while the infested Eastern and Western Plaguelands are filled with diseased animals and plantlife, courtesy of the Scourge’s plague.
Many quests also provide material rewards, such as cash, potions, food, magic items, armor, and weapons. Some of the best equipment in the game will only be available as quest rewards.
The first expansion to World of Warcraft expands the game by tremendous bounds - with new races, a new continent, an increase in the level cap, and much more. Released in January 2007, The Burning Crusade has an unprecedented amount of new content and takes the gameplay, lore, and features of World of Warcraft to entirely new levels. The Burning Crusade page contains the details of what you can expect to find beyond the Dark Portal.
t last, the world of Azeroth, first glimpsed in the original Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, is brought to life in glorious detail. Join the eight million players (and counting) currently adventuring in Azeroth as well as beyond the Dark Portal, and see what journeys await for those who would plumb the many secrets of this ancient realm. As a massively multiplayer online game, enables thousands of players from across the globe to come together online - undertaking grand quests and heroic exploits in a land of fantastic adventure.
On normal servers, you can enter into player-versus-player combat by storming enemy capitals, entering special PvP zones called battlegrounds, or by attacking the guards in enemy cities. You can also flag yourself for PvP by toggling the option in your player menu, or attack an opposing faction player who is flagged for PvP (doing so will automatically turn your own flag on). In all cases, you have a choice to engage in PvP combat or not.
You’ll soon encounter more intelligent, dangerous enemies as well. Humanoid foes of every kind, such as murlocs, gnolls, and furbolgs, join more unnatural monsters like undead, oozes, and elementals. And, should you dare, you’ll find more spectacular enemies like demons, infernals, dragonspawn, and mighty dragons stalking the dungeons and high-level areas of the world.
You can visit such places as the Burning Steppes, where Grom Hellscream fell in battle against the demon lord Mannoroth, and Ironforge, where the dwarves make their home below the mountain. Legendary heroes, such as Thrall, Cairne Bloodhoof, and King Magni Bronzebeard, are also in the game, presiding over their respective peoples as leaders in their race’s capitals.
“I’m glad I’m not on a PvP server!”
When choosing a character to create in World of Warcraft, there are many choices before you. There are ten races and nine classes available, but the game’s primary choice when it comes to character creation is the faction you wish to fight for. You can join the Horde or the Alliance, and your choice here has an impact on what you can and cannot accomplish in the world.

On PvP servers, there are many zones that are flagged as contested territory. In these zones, players from opposing factions can attack each other freely. Thus, you could be fighting monsters by yourself, only to be attacked by a stealthed enemy rogue. PvP servers also enable PvP combat through battlegrounds, attacking enemy guards, and entering enemy capitals.
Player-versus-Player Combat
Quests are a big part of World of Warcraft. Like most other role-playing games, World of Warcraft lets you advance in level as you gain experience. Experience can be gathered by killing monsters, exploring new destinations, and completing quests. Unlike in other games, quests are a significant tool for level advancement. Players who try to level up through combat alone will likely not advance as fast as those who combine questing with defeating monsters.
When you mouse over an enemy player or creature, the pointer will turn into a sword icon to show that you can attack them. Thus, to attack, all you need to do is right-click on a monster. Casting spells is also simple: Click on a spell icon and then click on a target. To facilitate the use of spells and skills, World of Warcraft offers an action bar at the bottom of the screen where you can place icons representing all your spells and abilities. You can thus use them at a quick click of the mouse, or by pressing the hotkeys associated with the icons on your action bar.

Nearly half of the Gnomish race was wiped out during the fall of Gnomeregan. The ragged Gnomes that survived fled to the safety of the Dwarves’ stronghold of Ironforge. Committed once again to the Alliance’s cause, the Gnomes spend their time devising strategies and weapons that will help them retake their ravaged city and build a brighter future for their people.

When the war ended, the Alliance discovered the reason for the Gnomes’ sudden withdrawal. Apparently, an ancient, barbaric menace had risen from the bowels of the earth and invaded Gnomeregan. Knowing that their allies’ priority was defeating the Burning Legion, the Gnomes decided to make their stand alone. Though they fought valiantly to save their beloved city, Gnomeregan was irrevocably lost.

Thriving within the wondrous techno-city of Gnomeregan, the Gnomes shared the resources of the forested Dun Morogh Peaks with their Dwarven cousins. You can activate these by either left-clicking on them, or by typing the number corresponding to the slot of the spell or ability you wish to use. Mousing over the icons will also show you a tooltip containing the name of the spell or ability. You can also consult your spell or ability books (Spellbook & Ability button on the Action Bar) to get a full description of each ability or spell your character may have. You can re-arrange your Action Bar by clicking and dragging on the icons. You can also add new spellsabilities to this bar as you receive them by dragging them from your Spell or Ability book. You can also place items in the bar for easy activation. Items on the action bar now remain there even after they are consumed.

he Tauren are huge, bestial creatures who live in the grassy, open barrens of central Kalimdor. They live to serve nature and maintain the balance between the wild things of the land and the restless spirit of the elements. Despite their enormous size and brute strength, the remarkably peaceful Tauren cultivate a quiet, tribal society. However, when roused by conflict, Tauren are implacable enemies who will use every ounce of their strength to smash their enemies under hoof. Under the leadership of their ancient chief, Cairne Bloodhoof, the Tauren allied themselves with the Orcs during the invasion of the Burning Legion. The two races have remained steadfast allies ever since. Like the Orcs, the Tauren struggle to retain their sense of tradition and noble identity.

Intro to WoW
November 19, 2007 on 1:05 am | In , , , , , Uncategorized, Blogroll | No CommentsWorld of Warcraft is an online game with thousands of players, so the game is built to facilitate extensive in-game socializing. You can search for players easily by searching by name, by looking for those in your same zone or by keywords such as a class, race, or guild name. You can also add players to a friends list, so you can keep track of nice and helpful players for grouping or just chatting.
“I’m glad I’m not on a PvP server!”
This long list of landscapes doesn’t even include the underground environments and dungeons of the world. There are dungeons available for all ranges of mid- to high-level players, and they offer many rich quests, fearsome foes, and powerful rewards.
Learning More
World of Warcraft’s interface allows you to determine from a quick mouse-over what something is and how you can interact with it.

After you create your character, you will enter the world in your race’s starting area. All the races except trolls and gnomes begin in a unique location. Those two races have to share starting locales with the orcs and dwarves, respectively. After watching a brief in-game cutscene introducing your race, you are set loose upon the world.
Fighting a bear
Grouping is simple as well. Many quests are designed to be accomplished with other players, and you’ll therefore want to seek out the help of other characters for these. Groups can have up to five players, who should be around the same level so that all players in the group can fight acceptable challenges and earn good experience. The game also has ”raid groups,” which allow up to 40 players to adventure together against uncommonly powerful foes and quests. However, while in a raid group, the vast majority of quests (except special ”raid quests”) can not be completed and the experience reward for defeating monsters is significantly reduced.
t last, the world of Azeroth, first glimpsed in the original Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, is brought to life in glorious detail.
Character creation
Guards in the human city of Stormwind look just like footmen from Warcraft III, peasants in the human town of Hillsbrad look exactly like their counterparts in the strategy games, and orc peons shuffle about the farms of Go’Shek in the Arathi Highlands. Night elf players can even see gargantuan Ancient Protectors patrolling the elven lands of Teldrassil, while a towering Ancient of War waits to greet all visitors to Darnassus.
Those who love the story will want to dive into the quests simply for the lore they reveal, but many players will also want to complete quests for the experience and the rewards. Nearly all quests give sizeable experience rewards.

Entrance to an instance
When choosing a character to create in , there are many choices before you. There are ten races and nine classes available, but the game’s primary choice when it comes to character creation is the faction you wish to fight for. You can join the Horde or the Alliance, and your choice here has an impact on what you can and cannot accomplish in the world.
Intuitive Interface
You can only group and talk to players in your own faction. You also can only view and befriend players in your faction when using the in-game social commands. The intent is to make you feel like a member of one enormous team, while at the same time setting up the other faction as an enemy or, at best, a rival. Thus, if you wish to play with your friends, you should all join the same faction. Other content, such as the zones you can visit and the quests you can accomplish, are also organized by faction. Some quests can only be completed by Horde players and others can only be completed by Alliance players. Some zones offer cities and interactive NPCs for one faction, but are completely hostile to the other.

draws heavily upon the lore of the Warcraft universe. Long-time fans of the Warcraft games are finally able to step into the world from a player’s perspective, and experience the universe firsthand. People, places, and units from the strategy games are brought to life in .
Questing
Many quests also provide material rewards, such as cash, potions, food, magic items, armor, and weapons. Some of the best equipment in the game will only be available as quest rewards.

Player-versus-Player Combat
The first expansion to World of Warcraft expands the game by tremendous bounds - with new races, a new continent, an increase in the level cap, and much more. Released in January 2007, The Burning Crusade has an unprecedented amount of new content and takes the gameplay, lore, and features of World of Warcraft to entirely new levels. The Burning Crusade page contains the details of what you can expect to find beyond the Dark Portal.
The information in this guide is a teaser for World of Warcraft. Indeed, it is just a small sample of the epic adventure you can experience and the scope of detail and options available to you in the world of Azeroth. To learn more about the game, visit the World of Warcraft guide via the links to the left or by visiting the URL http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/.
Creating a Character
On normal servers, you can enter into player-versus-player combat by storming enemy capitals, entering special PvP zones called battlegrounds, or by attacking the guards in enemy cities. You can also flag yourself for PvP by toggling the option in your player menu, or attack an opposing faction player who is flagged for PvP (doing so will automatically turn your own flag on). In all cases, you have a choice to engage in PvP combat or not.
A Familiar World
You can visit such places as the Burning Steppes, where Grom Hellscream fell in battle against the demon lord Mannoroth, and Ironforge, where the dwarves make their home below the mountain. Legendary heroes, such as Thrall, Cairne Bloodhoof, and King Magni Bronzebeard, are also in the game, presiding over their respective peoples as leaders in their race’s capitals.
World of Warcraft has as friendly a user interface as possible to make the game accessible to all players.
Can I interest you in a quest?
Player-versus-player gameplay is very important to World of Warcraft. However, not everyone wishes to engage in PvP combat. Thus, there are different realm types, normal and PvP, that will accomodate either preference. On normal servers, PvP combat is entirely consensual. You cannot be attacked by other players unless you want to be. The other server type is player-versus-player, and on this server, you can sometimes be attacked by players of the opposing faction without warning.
The Horde faction includes the orc, tauren, troll, blood elf, and undead races, while the Alliance faction is comprised of dwarves, gnomes, humans, draenei, and night elves.

Social Aspects
The first available instances are for characters in the mid-teens in levels, and there are dozens more to accommodate all levels up to 70.

Dwarves get +5 to Gun Skill
he stoic dwarves of Ironforge are an ancient race of robust humanoids who live beneath the snow-capped mountains of Khaz Modan. The Dwarves have always been fast allies with the Humans, and they revel in the prospects of battle and storytelling alike. In past ages, the Dwarves rarely left the safety of their mountain fortresses. However, whenever the call to battle sounded, they rose up to defend their friends and allies with unmatched courage and valor. Due to a recent discovery that uncovered fragments of their ancient origins, the Dwarves have undergone a remarkable transformation. The discovery convinced the Dwarves that the mighty Titans created them from stone when the world was young. They feel that their destiny is now to search the world over for more signs and proof of their enchanted heritage and to rediscover the Titans’ hidden legacies. To this end, the Dwarves have sent out their Prospectors to all ends of the world in the hopes of discovering new insight into their shrouded past. These journeys led to Dwarven excavation sites all over the known world, some of which serve as outposts and some of which serve as potential hunting grounds for enemies of the Dwarven race.

Paladin Spells
November 18, 2007 on 9:45 pm | In , , , , , Uncategorized, Blogroll | No CommentsBlessing of Light - Places a Blessing on the friendly target, increasing the effects of Holy Light spells used on the target by X and the effect Flash of Light spells used on the target by Y. Lasts Z min. Players may only have one Blessing on them per Paladin at any one time.
Fire Resistance Aura - Increases nearby group member’s fire resistance X. Players may only have one Aura on them per Paladin at any one time.
Divine Protection - You are protected from all physical attacks and spells for X seconds, but during that time you cannot attack or use physical abilities on yourself.
Lay on Hands (very long cooldown)
Blessing of Salvation - Reduces the amount of threat generated. This is useful to cast on casters such as Priests or Mages to make their lives easier against the monsters. Monsters will often stop targeting them and this Blessing will allow the casters to do more without being a monster’s primary focus.
Paladins can learn Greater Blessings for the following spells:
Consecration - Consecrates the land beneath the Paladin, doing X Holy damage over Y sec. to enemies who enter the area.
Flash of Light - Heals a friendly target for X to Y. The Paladin is also good at keeping players alive. Use Flash of Light to keep party members alive.
A Blessing is a short buff. The Paladin can only have one Blessing active on a player at a time. The intention is for players to decide what Blessing is best for the situation and change Blessings depending on what is happening. If there are multiple Paladins in a group, the limit is one Blessing per person per Paladin. Thus, with two Paladins each party member can have two Blessings.
Blessings
Greater Blessings will cast the associated blessing on all raid members that share the same class as the target. For example, if you cast Greater Blessing of Might on a warrior in your raid, all warriors in the raid party will receive Blessing of Might from you. Additionally, Greater Blessings have an increased duration of 30 minutes. These blessings require twice as much mana as the single target version, as well as a reagent. Paladins can purchase these new Greater Blessing spells from their class trainers.
Exorcism (DD) - This direct damage spell is good for finishing off Undead monsters or for ”pulling” them. Also works on Demons.
Other Information
Retribution Aura - Causes holy damage to any creature that strikes a party member.
Once you start seeing Undead monsters, make use of all the skills that specifically target them. These skills are available at the trainer. Ask around to find out where you can find Undead monsters.
Auras
Holy
Seal of the Crusader - Fills the Paladin with the spirit of a crusader for X sec. granting Y attack power. The Paladin also attacks Z% faster, but deals less damage with each attack. Only one Seal can be active on the Paladin at any one time. Unleashing this Seal’s energy will judge an enemy for A sec. increasing Holy damage taken by up to B. Only one judgement can be active at any one time.
Frost Resistance Aura - Increases nearby group member’s frost resistance X. Players may only have one Aura on them per Paladin at any one time.
Uses 100% Mana. Heals a friendly target for an amount equal to the Paladin’s maximum amount of health and restores X of their mana. Drains all of the Paladin’s remaining mana when used. This is one of the Paladin’s best abilities. Use this in special cases when you’re about to die or to save a party member. Make sure you don’t waste it; save it for when you really need it. Nevertheless, if you never use it, you’re also wasting it.
Blessing of Wisdom
Divine Intervention - Sacrifices the caster to remove the party member from battle, shielding him from all harm but preventing him from taking any action for X sec.
Blessing of Wisdom - Increases mana regeneration. Use this on spellcasters like Priests, Mages, etc. You can also use this on yourself after battle to regenerate mana.
Blessing of Protection - Protects the target from all physical attacks. This Blessing is only usable on party members. While this is active the targeted player is unable to attack or use physical abilities.
Blessing of Might - Increases damage. Use this on party members who are focused on damaging the enemy with physical attacks.
Devotion Aura - Gives additional armor to nearby party members. Use this when multiple party members are taking damage during battle.
Seal of Wisdom - Fills the Paladin with divine wisdom for 30 sec, giving each melee attack a chance to restore X of the Paladin’s mana. Only one Seal can be active on the Paladin at any one time. Unleashing this Seal’s energy will judge an enemy for 30 sec. granting attacks and spells used against the judged enemy a chance to restore Y mana to the attacker. Only one Judgement per Paladin can be active at any one time.
Judgement - Unleashes the energy of a Seal spell upon an enemy. Refer to individual Seals for Judgement effect. Judgements that place a debuff on their victim have their duration refreshed when the judging paladin strikes the victim with his or her melee swings. In addition, Judgements that place debuffs cannot be resisted. Using Judgement will initiate melee combat.
Blessing of Salvation
Seal of Light - Fills the Paladin with divine light for 30 sec, giving each melee attack a chance to heal the Paladin for Y. Only one Seal can be active on the Paladin at any one time. Unleashing this Seal’s energy will judge an enemy for XX seconds granting melee attacks made against the judged enemy a chance of healing the attacker for Z. Only one Judgement per Paladin can be active at any one time.

Divine Protection, Divine Shield and Blessing of Protection - Targets of these spells will receive the ”Forbearance” effect, preventing another of these three spells from being applied to that target for one minute.

Blessing of Freedom - Places a Blessing on the party member, granting immunity to movement impairing effects for X sec. Will counter the movement impairing effects of Frostbolt, Cone of Cold, Frost Shock. It will not prevent the damage taken by Frost Nova, Hamstring, Wing Clip, Mind Flay, Counterattack, or Blast Wave or the melee and ranged attack speed slowing effects of Cripple. Players may only have one Blessing on them per Paladin at any one time.
Divine Shield - Protects the Paladin from all damage and spells for X seconds, but reduces attack speed by X%. This replaces Divine Protection because it allows you to attack while active, unlike Divine Protection. You can heal yourself while using Divine Shield! This ability slows the Paladin’s attack speed.
This page does not have a complete listing of all abilities that are available. Look for more once our database section is active.
Turn Undead - This causes the monster to run away. This is good for multiple monster pulls. Pick one of the monsters that isn’t being attacked and send it running away. You can then focus on the remaining monsters. This is also a good escape ability. Another use could be to send the monster running away and then heal yourself while the monster is gone. This has an increased chance of breaking early.
Blessing of Might
Righteous Fury - Increases the threat generated by the Paladin’s Holy attacks by X%. Lasts Y mins.
Seal of Justice - Fills the Paladin with the spirit of justice for X sec. giving each melee attack a chance to stun for Y sec. Only one Seal can be active on the Paladin at any one time. Unleashing this Seal’s energy will judge an enemy for Y sec. preventing them from fleeing. Only one judgement per Paladin can be active at any one time.
You can only have one aura active at a time. You’ll have to decide what is best for the situation. Other players can also let you know what is best to use. If there are multiple Paladins in the same group, they can each have a different aura active, but multiple Paladins cannot stack the effects of the same aura. If you find yourself in a party with another Paladin, ask him or her what aura he or she is going to use, then use a different one that will complement it.
Retribution
Greater Blessings
Holy Light (Healing) - The Paladin is a good healer with Holy Light.
Seal of Righteousness - Fills the Paladin with holy spirit for 30 sec, giving each melee attack a chance to cause X to Y additional Holy damage. Only one Seal can be active on the Paladin at any one time. Unleashing this Seal’s energy will cause Z Holy damage to an enemy. Does holy damage on every swing. The Judgement effect is ”Judgement of Righteousness” to differentiate it from the Seal damage in the combat log.
Shadow Resistance Aura - Increases nearby group member’s shadow resistance X. Players may only have one Aura on them per Paladin at any one time.

Quest Management
November 18, 2007 on 7:52 pm | In , , , , , Uncategorized, Blogroll | No CommentsIf you are having problems completing a quest or finding where to get a quest, ask for help in the general chat channel. You can also post about quests in the Quest Forum. Usually the best place to ask is your guild, especially if there are more experienced players who have completed the quests several times.
Quest too hard?
You can store quest items in your bank for later use. Just make sure you pick them up before you go out to continue the quest.
Try to abandon a quest that is on the first step. It is very easy to go back and get that quest again. It can be more confusing if you’re trying to get a continued quest again.
Getting quest items
Ask for quest advice
Other players can tell you which quests are good for experience or which might have a quest reward that will benefit your character. Feel free to talk to guild members, party members, or players in the general channels for advice.
Keep a few Quest Slots Open
You can buy, trade, or receive some quest items as gifts from other players. These items must not be marked as ”quest items” which cannot be traded. For example, one quest requires Buzzard Wings. Once people learn that these are a part of a quest they may sell them, or give them away to friends who need them for the quest. You can ask your guild ”does anyone have any extra Buzzard Wings?”. Then people will know that you need them. You can also use the mail system. Have friends mail you the quest items. You can also use the Auction House to look for quest items. This can give you a short cut in completing quests rather than fighting monsters for the quest items. It’s a balance of time vs. money. You can save money by getting the items yourself but it will take longer. Once you’ve identified what items are used in quests, you can save them and give or sell them to other players. The number of quest items that can be traded is small. In most cases the only quest items that players can trade are tradeskill items.
You don’t have to do every quest
If you abandon a quest you can still go back and get the quest again. As your character advances beyond the optimal level range for a quest the exclamation point above the quest giver’s head will disappear, but you can still return to start the quest at a later date. Just write down which quest it was, the NPC’s name and its location just in case you need to refer to your notes.
Quest rewards, both in experience and items, are designed to be appropriate for the level at which they’re offered. If you’re going to abandon a quest try to abandon quests that are gray or that have been green for a long time. Those usually aren’t worth your time unless you are trying to get a continuation quest or are doing it for enjoyment of the storyline.
Use your bank
Abandoning Quests

Rather than bouncing around, it’s usually best to do all the quests you can in a particular zone. Once you get to quests that are too hard or that you can’t find groups to complete, then you must move on to another zone with easier quests or more people to play with.
There is an easy answer to this question: simply move on to another area. There will be several different areas around your character’s level range you can use to level up. For example, you can play in Westfall (Humans), Loch Modan (Dwarves), or Darkshore (Night Elves) which are all around the same difficulty level. If you’re having trouble in one of these areas, go to another area with a similar level range. You can see the list of level ranges here.
here are many aspects in that require micro-management skills, and Questing is no exception. Quest Management is a very important part of playing the game. You already have to manage the items against the amount of space you have available in your backpacks and banks. When your space is full, you are faced with the decision to sell items, destroy items, or trade items in order to get more space. These choices and techniques can also be applied to quests, since the quest log can only store a maximum of 25 quests. You must manage the quests in your logs and decide which quests to focus on completing.
Focus in a particular region whenever possible
“I’m out of easy quests, what do I do?”
Finding quest help
If the quest title is orange or dark red, it’s unlikely you will be able to complete it unless you have a group. It’s best that you find some other yellow or green quest to do. As you level up, the red quests will turn to yellow and they will be easier to do.
For system performance reasons, the quest log has a limit of 25 quest slots. As you travel you should always try to have 1-2 slots open for new quests. Sometimes you will be placed in situations that prompt you for a new quest and not having room to accept one could hamper your progress. This can happen with escort missions and instances. For example: If you go into an instance and have to get a quest very quickly but are ”full”, it is possible that you won’t be able to get the quest again until the NPC resets (or until you enter a new instance). So leave some room for emergency situations.
You should only destroy the quest items for abandoned quests if you have no intention of getting that quest again. If you are concerned about inventory space, you can store quest items in the bank until you’re ready to continue the quest. Just remember to pick them up again before you try to complete it. :)
Gold WOW WOW Gold
There are hundreds of quests. While it is possible to do them all, it’s not very efficient. Once quests become too low level (green or gray) you should abandon them and focus on quests that will give you more experience. You should only do a super easy quest if it has a reward you want or because you are more interested in the quest itself than the experience it provides.

Jewelcrafting

Delicate Copper Wire is the recipe that should propel you most of the way to the fiftieth skill point, which is where plenty of new recipes will be unlocked to you.
If you want to switch a high-level character with mining over to jewelcrafting, then you’ll have to spend plenty of time searching low-level zones for copper and tin to use to skill yourself up, or buy it on the auction house.
These statues use up the supply of stones that you will be gaining from mining without drawing down the supply of metal bars or ore that you’ll need for your real recipes.
JewelcraftingThe new profession in The Burning Crusade is called jewelcrafting.
A Note Of CautionOne thing you should be aware of if you’re thinking about taking on Jewelcrafting as a skill for your new character is that training for this skill in Azeroth is only available in the two new capital cities, Exodar and Silvermoon.
This is particularly problem for Draenei, who will probably head down to the areas around Stormwind to do the Deadmines after leaving Azuremyst Isle.
Cheap WOW Gold
The Stone Statues, which come along in Rough, Coarse, Heavy, and other stone varieties, will be another great way to level up your skill in jewelcrafting.
When you reach character level 10, you can start creating some very basic rings for yourself.
As mentioned, you’ll need to use plenty of copper, tin, and bronze to get yourself up past the first 100 skill points or so.
Characters that aren’t Draenei or Blood Elves can still become jewelcrafters, but will have to deal with a fairly lengthy trip to one of these cities before they can pick it up.
Gold WOW WOW Gold
They do use up a lot of stone to create, though, so you may want to check the auction house to see if you can’t find any cheap auctions for stone.
The Blood Elves have a bit of an easier time with it, since they can teleport to Silvermoon from the Undercity, but that’ll still be a long hike from the Barrens or Stranglethorn Vale.
It’s a heck of a hike just to train a skill, especially if you have to make it multiple times when the recipes you’re using stop giving you guaranteed skill-ups.
If you save six or seven stacks of each type of ore and stone, you should be able to drop skinning and flip over to jewelcrafting just before you hit the Outland and get most of the way to 300 skill without having to go out collecting any more.
At low levels, jewelcrafting is primarily concerned with the construction of rings and necklaces, which few of the other professions can create.
You can buy these on the auction house, but since jewelcrafting is the only new profession in Burning Crusade, you can expect that many of these materials will be at an inflated price for a while as everyone and their brother attempts to try out the new tradeskill.
These items can be created and used by yourself, or traded to your teammates, or sold on the auction house - they aren’t soulbound, nor do they require the wearer to have any skill points in jewelcrafting to wear them, as many of the engineering items do.
What’s more, though, is that when you leave the starting areas for these races, you won’t be able to learn new recipes for them unless you return.
The Exodar is pretty, but it鈥檚 a long ways away from most of civilization.
When you start creating items, you’ll want to try to increase your skill in jewelcrafting by making plenty of Delicate Copper Wire and Bronze Settings.
It’s a lot of work for the same result, but it will let you spend your time worrying about getting experience instead of flying back to Exodar every few levels, then it’ll probably be the wisest path.
Many of them are unique, though, so if you see a specific ring that you like and make yourself two of them, you’ll probably only be able to wear one of them at a time.
Best to farm the materials yourself.
If you intend to level it up, you’ll want to match it with mining, as jewelcrafting uses plenty of ore and stone.
You can get Jewelcrafting training in the Outland after level 58, so at that point the problem is less severe, but it’s still annoying! If you don’t want to deal with a number of long trips that stall your experience-gaining, then you may simply want to use mining as you level up your character and stockpile the ore that you collect on a mule character, using skinning as your secondary profession to sell the leather and make money.
Since rings don’t usually start popping up as drops or quest items until the middle or late teen levels, you’ll have a bit of a head start on other characters in this category, but the bonuses from the early rings and amulets are going to be very minor, on the order of +1 or +2 to a single attribute.
If you want to head back to Exodar and train, you’ll have to head to fly back to Ironforge, fly to Menethil Harbor, then take a couple of boat rides to reach Exodar.
Starting JewelcraftingJewelcrafting is best obtained alongside a new character, although it’s obviously available to characters that have already been leveled, assuming that you have the Burning Crusade expansion released.
These statues are bind on pickup, however, so they can’t be traded or auctioned.
They’re actually handy to have in combat, as well, since they’ll initiate a heal over time when you drop them at your feet; if you aren’t a healing class, then these should help you survive some of the tougher fights you encounter as you solo yourself up past the teen levels.
